Lower Hopworthy Farm & Self-Catering Cottage
Lower Hopworthy Farm is situated in a rural valley just outside the village of Pyworthy. The coast of Bude is 10 minutes drive and the Eden project about an hour. The Molesworth Arms pub is within walking distance from the farm and offers excellent value meals all year round.
Lower Hopworthy Farmhouse is a characteristic 16th century Farmhouse that is fully modernised to a high standard of comfort. All guest rooms have central heating, colour TV, and are either en-suite or have exclusive use of a bathroom. There are seven double bedrooms of which three are twin.
Facilities include a pretty oak beamed sitting/reading room and a sunny breakfast room overlooking the garden, plus a character oak beamed sitting room with colour TV and a cosy wood burner for chilly winter days.
There is also a games room, which has a snooker table and dartboard. The rooms have lovely views over the extensive landscaped gardens and farmland. The grounds have the benefit of a lake and pond well stocked with fish. The gardens are extensive approximately 2 acres and include a formal rose garden, a perennial garden and a collection of mature shrubs and trees.
Lower Hopworthy Cottage is a self-contained cottage with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Price for Self-catering cottage from £150 per week.
The farm is a birdwatchers and butterfly paradise extending to 40 acres, which includes a river and wetlands with some rare and interesting fauna. Early risers can watch deer in the fields and ducks and geese on the ponds. Bude and the North Cornwall coast are approximately 15 minutes by car.
Lower Hopworthy can also accommodate guests who wish to bring their own horses. There is a newly constructed American barn with large airy stables plus the use of an indoor manége. The fields are safely fenced and the grazing good, the lanes around the area are quiet, interesting and very pretty. For the keen cyclist the property is situated on a cycle route. There is ample parking and boats can be parked by arrangement.
Breakfast is free-range eggs, bacon, sausages, local bread, and rolls or a healthy option of fresh fruit salad, yogurt and cereal.
Spring, Autumn and Winter prices from £22 per person per night single, £40 twin and double plus one family room available £50. Peak Season July and August £25 single, £50 double per person per night.
The house is also let on a self-catering basis, price on request.
